Picton parlour gatherings lead to Macdonald statue

The Scottish immigrant whose vision and leadership accomplished the Canadian nation, Sir John A. Macdonald is Prince Edward County’s example of the tenacity needed to preserve and restore the community’s heritage. He tied the new nation together by building a railroad, and leaders of The Macdonald Project of Prince Edward County believe that his story has the motivational strength to revive heritage awareness in the county.
